AI4AI: Artificial Intelligence for Accessible Medical Imaging

Project summary

Medical images play a vital role in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of various diseases. However, the equipment required is often expensive. Only qualified personnel can operate the systems and analyse and interpret the resulting images. As a result, medical images are usually taken in hospitals. Not everyone has access to hospital care, however. Moreover, the shortage of healthcare workers is a growing concern.

The AI4AI project will use artificial intelligence to enable non-experts to operate advanced imaging equipment, improve the quality of images taken with less expensive, portable equipment, and automate the analysis and interpretation of images.
