Disease-fighting antibodies within a day
Project summary
Antibodies are an essential part of our immune defence system to detect and destroy infections and abnormal (cancer) cells. Being able to custom design antibodies within a day against a (new) bacterial, viral or cancer protein to fight disease, is an ultimate dream. The biggest challenge is that we cannot predict which antibody binds which protein. To crack this code, we developed a novel strategy to identify all the proteins binding to 1 million different antibodies. Using Artificial Intelligence, this huge database will unlock the antibody-protein enigma and allow in silico custom antibody design against any (new) disease.
