Global Brain Ageing: Investigating normal and abnormal aging across the globe

Project summary

As the brain ages the tissue slowly shrinks. However, within diseases such as dementia certain areas shrink excessively and more rapidly. This has been observed through MRIs within mainly Caucasian individuals from North-America and Europe, we intend to extend this research using advanced technology to less represented groups globally.
