iControl: Real-time biomolecular sensing to control infection and inflammation

Project summary
The treatment of critically ill patients may be greatly improved when technologies would become available to measure concentrations of therapeutic drugs and inflammatory markers continuously over time. Currently, there are no real-time sensors available that can measure variations in low concentrations over long durations in combination with continuous sampling from a patient. In the iControl project we will study and develop miniaturized sensors integrated with microdialysis sampling in order to enable real-time monitoring-and-control in critical care and beyond.
