NORMO2: Niet-invasieve respiratoire ondersteuning bij COVID-19 longfalen: uitkomsten en risicofactoren
Project summary
COVID-19 can lead to oxygen deprivation due to pneumonia. Treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with artificial respiration with a tube in the windpipe (or invasive ventilation) is often necessary. This burdensome treatment has many disadvantages for the patient, but also for society, given that the number of available IC beds is limited. Preventing artificial respiration and IC admission is therefore of great importance.
Impact
To determine whether using less complex respiratory support can prevent tube-based artificial respiration in patients with COVID-19
