Safe and timely cessation of isolation measures after COVID-19 – the SCIP-COVID-19 study

Project summary

The duration of infectivity of COVID-19 and thus the duration of isolation during hospitalization is not yet known. Too early out of isolation gives infections in the hospital. Too late out of isolation is very stressful for the patient. The researchers think that the isolation period can be shorter. However, there is not enough knowledge to determine when someone is no longer contagious. Therefore, this study takes a number of characteristics together, which must be present or absent before you can say; “this patient is no longer contagious”.

Aim

The aim of this study is to use a number of characteristics to determine when a patient is no longer contagious in a corona infection and can be taken out of isolation.

Research Design

A lot of information about the patients has already been collected. This will be re-used and supplemented to answer the question of this study.

Impact

The results of the study will be used by hospitals
