Steadfast: neuromechanical principles underlying the multiaxial control of standing.
Project summary
Standing up straight is a challenging battle against gravity. The underlying motor behavior is based on complex interactions between biomechanics and neural systems. In this study, researchers use a robotic equilibrium simulator and sensory manipulations to unravel the neuromechanical interactions that determine how the brain controls the (in)stability of standing.
