Highly pathogenic bird flu viruses are a major burden for the poultry industry, animal welfare, and a threat to human health. Researchers will investigate how and why these highly pathogenic viruses emerge. This research which will fill major gaps in our knowledge and ultimately help to control bird flu outbreaks.
